x is a series of experiments exploring sonic scapes through the theory of randomness. Generated by computational algorithms, in the world of sound, such randomness is known as ‘White Noise’. White Noise is defined by a random frequency procreated at random time and in equal loudness. This signal is then used to drastically shape, and animate almost every aspect of a sound source. This sound source may be an oscillator or an audio recording.

The result is an infinitely changing composition, no one second is the same as the next. Computers are thought to be predictable in their behavior, but this project explores how incredibly unpredictable and unstable they can be. In the aid of visual feedback, ‘x’ will dive deeper into the fundamentals of sound through these intricate and elaborate network of textures.
